The shootdown of Extortion 17 on 8.6.11 is the largest lost of Navy Special Warfare in one incident to date. This is the shootdown of SEAL Team 6, where 30 men, 17 SEAL Team 6 members and 1 working dog were tragically killed. SOC Aaron Vaughn was KIA in this incident.
