Volunteer Application
Apply today to mentor Gold Star Children
We are looking for mentors that would be the age of the father of the kids that attend camp. Children that attend are in the age range of 8–18-years old. Although some of our mentors that participate are military and first responders, there is no need to have that profession to apply. We have bankers to graphic designers, and all other professions involved that mentor the campers. Typically, mentors are assigned 2 or 3 children to be responsible for the weekend. Duties include participating in the activities with the kids, general oversite, and helping them experience the weekend to its fullest. Although all attendees are children that have lost a parent, Op300 is not a grief share camp. We do not expect our mentors to be grief counselors, but we do ask that you care for child assigned and be open to conversations if they might want to share.
To ensure the safety of our campers, mentors must complete an application and undergo a criminal background screening—including fingerprinting. This screening is free of charge. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. We will contact you as further information is needed. Thank you!
